Who are Staycationplan?
Staycationplan is a trading name of Travel Insurance specialists P J Hayman & Company Limited who are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
Who is eligible to take out a policy?
Staycationplan is available to UK* residents of ALL ages.

*UK is defined as England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man.

Non UK residents – some limited cover is available to non UK residents who purchase cover while residing or staying in the UK*. For further details please contact us on 02392 419 843.

Where can I travel under Staycationplan?

You will be covered when you travel anywhere within the United Kingdom*

*United Kingdom / UK – means England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man

Why do I need Staycationplan insurance?

When your booking is confirmed, you are legally bound to pay the accommodation provider if you have to cancel your holiday as well as losing your deposit. Staycationplan insurance is recommended just in case you fell ill, had an accident or were prevented from taking your holiday.

Am I covered for COVID-19?

Cancellation and Curtailment cover is included under new policies issued from 19th October 2020. You, or a member of your party insured under the same policy are covered if taken ill with COVID-19. Note, this does not extend to being placed in to quarantine or self-isolating.

How long can I travel for?

Staycationplan covers individual trips up to a maximum of 45 days long.

I have a pre-existing medical condition; will I need to go through medical screening?

No medical screening is required under Staycationplan. However, please read the ‘Important – Medical Conditions’ which is shown in both the sales leaflet and Insurance Policy.

Who are the Insurers?

Staycationplan Insurance is arranged by P J Hayman & Company Limited, and insured by White Horse Insurance Ireland dac.

White Horse Insurance Ireland dac is registered in Ireland No. 306045.

White Horse Insurance Ireland dac’s Registered Office is First Floor, Rineanna House, Shannon Free Zone, Shannon, County Clare, Republic of Ireland.

White Horse Insurance Ireland dac is authorised and regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland.

Deemed authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority and subject to regulation by the Financial Conduct Authority and limited regulation by the Prudential Regulation Authority.

The nature and extent of consumer protections may differ from those for firms based in the UK.

Is the excess applicable per person?

The policy excess is £40 per party for cancellation and curtailment and £40 per person for medical repatriation & other expenses, personal possessions and personal money. There is a £100 excess under Personal Liability for damage to accommodation per party. The cancellation and curtailment and medical repatriation & other expenses excess is increased to £80 if the claim is due to an existing medical condition.

Can I delete the policy excesses?

Yes, for an additional premium of £8.80 per party booking, you can have the standard claims excesses (not the increased excess due to an existing medical condition) deleted. This is referred to as the ‘Excess Waiver’.

How will I receive my travel insurance policy documents?

If you purchase your policy online, your Schedule of Insurance and policy documents are available to download from your online account (you can create an account either before or after purchase).

If you purchase your policy over the telephone you can choose to have your documents sent by post or to your online account, whichever is your preference.

Do you offer a money back guarantee?

Yes, if the cover does not meet your requirements, you can return the documentation within 14 days of the date of receipt, but before the departure date. Provided you have not travelled or made or intend to make a claim, your premium will be refunded in full.

How do I make a claim?

Is it possible to increase any of the limits of cover?

There is no option to increase the limits of cover.

However, as the cost of the premium is based on the cost of the holiday, the amount of cancellation cover you need is completely up to you.
